I write articles about culture, technology, and human rights for Fast Company, Wired, Popular Science, and the New York Times Magazine. I'm also a producer for PRI's Studio360 and a Correspondent at Boing Boing, one of Time Magazine's five most essential blogs of 2010.

In 2008, I wrote a book about Urawaza.

I have appeared on CNN, BBC Radio, CBC Radio, The Wall Street Journal, and ABC's View from the Bay, and have spoken at the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan, O'Reilly's ETech conference, and Ignite! San Francisco.
