There's more to this wheelchair then it's hideously clashing design. See that slit in the middle? Now the elderly and disabled can pee and poo without causing their caretakers any trouble in 4 simple steps:
Step 1. Dress appropriately. Wear custom pants and underwear with aptly placed holes.
Step 2. Take care of business. Pee or poo. Or whatever.
Step 3. Clean. Wait for the freshly scented liquid to spray through the hole.
Step 4. Dry. Wait for the warm air to blow through the hole.
The creator, Shuichi Suehiro, spent six years on this baby. He's damn proud of it, too. "I seek the creation of an oasis for elderly communities with big dreams and the possibility of independence," he writes on his web site. He boasts that it's the first ever of its kind in the world, and has applied for a patent.
The wheelchair's for rent for JPY1,100 a day. Kind of gross to think about loaning a used one.

wow. yeah a loaner might be kinda gross.. but i would rather take care of my business there, than having to have someone help me out every single time. I think it will sell, no?

actually this is a good invention for people living on a chair...they probably have interchangeable toilets that sit under the chair itself, so loaners will be able to have brand new toilets...anyway, a lot of cute/interesting stuff on your blog...starting with tokyomango....sort of like honolulunashi...

"Now the elderly and disabled can pee and poo without causing their caretakers any trouble...."I'm a non-disabled 20 something who just placed an order! I guess I don't need my diapers anymore....
