Watch out for this little one. She will kick your ass in shogi, so bad you won't know what hit you. 8-year old Beni Takeyama picked up a shogi book by accident at her local bookstore last year, and two months later was competing against veterans from the Japan Shogi Association.
Shogi is the Japanese version of chess. Instead of the king we have the osho, or the royal general, after whom restaurants and hotels all over the country--including the popular izakaya chain--have been named.
