Babel was a depressing movie, but the segment that took place in Tokyo was really well crafted. And for all her awesome efforts at depicting a deaf, horny Japanese teenager, homegirl Rinko Kikuchi holds a nomination for Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globe Awards, which will be held in January 07. Kikuchi's performance was very dynamic and provocative. I liked it. I especially liked the part where she stuck her tongue in the dentist's mouth. Now I understand why Japanese dentists always wear face masks when they're drilling your molars.
