I just discovered this blog. It makes me want to visit Japan again minus the food poisoning from my last trip.

Cheers and keep up the good work in this New Years!

Hah, time for some comic book geekery! Blue colour is used in hair for lighting, and it's intended to represent black, believe it or not.

Boring fact: Stan Lee, creator of Spider-Man, can't remember if Spidey's costume is black and red, or blue and red. He says he can't remember if the blue was originally intended to represent black, or if it was merely just a blue and red suit. ;)

It looks like its a sticker on a train.. is it?

How come you didn't know that was Dick Tracy? What kind of American are you?

Rog

And why can't such a rugged, handsome stallion of a man find a girl whose eyes point in the same direction?

My Bio

  • I write articles about culture, technology, and human rights for Wired, Popular Science, Fast Company, and the New York Times Magazine. I also produce radio segments for PRI's Studio360 and am a Correspondent for Boing Boing, one of Time Magazine's five most essential blogs of 2010.

In 2008, Chronicle published my book: Urawaza: Secret Everyday Tips and Tricks from Japan.

I am also the founder of The Tofu Project, a boutique program that helps Japanese entrepreneurs and creators think deeper, tell better stories, and go out into the world in a much bigger way. We work with companies like Mixi, Japan Airlines, and Salesforce.com.

Sometimes I try to explain Japanese culture on CNN, BBC, CBC, WSJ, ABC (so many acronyms!) or in person at places like the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan, ETech, and Ignite!
