In college, I had this weird Economics teacher who loved Kit Kats. Every single freaking supply and demand curve was prefaced with: "Raja loves Kit Kats. There were 2000 Kit Kats available but 5000 in demand" and shit like that in his nearly incomprehensible accent. (He also used to lock the door precisely at 9:31AM to ward off latecomers, but that's a slight digression.)
When I saw this Kit Kat vending machine, I thought of Raja. I thought of how happy he would be to see this, and how, if I ever ended up in Japan with him, I would take him to this corner in Akihabara where they sell Kit Kats in cans next to Milo in cans and below the Cream of Corn Soup and Coffee in cans.
Raja. Even after all the times you locked me out of your classroom in the freezing fucking cold Boston weather, even after I ran to the Ec building in my pajamas without even brushing my teeth, I still wish you coulda seen this.

We've got them out in Saitama as well, they're so-so.

They're in Arashiyama, too. My eyes bugged out the first time I saw them, hehe.

Ok, I just wanted to make sure... is this a chocolate drink that tastes like Kit Kat? Or are they just putting pieces of chocolates inside a can?

I like how they cost a whole 70 yen more than the milo drink.

We had them down in Kagoshima, too. It's not a can, but a glass jar -- like good 'ol OneCup sake. There's six individually-wrapped smallish Kit-Kat bars in there.
