If you've been to the Ameyoko district near Ueno, chances are that you've probably heard the word "Omake" a billion times. The street is filled with old school vendors selling fish, chestnuts, parachute jackets, and other random items reminiscent of the post-war black market. And everything comes with tons and tons of "omake," or bonuses. For example, if you buy a basket of chestnuts for 300 yen, they'll add an extra basket for free, plus an extra handful.
And then there's the chocolate guy, pictured here, who will give you so much omake chocolate for 1000 yen that you'll be on a sugar high for an entire year if you ate it all.
Look at how prolifically he advertises his price. I was so tempted to go up to him and say, "So how much is it again?" but I didn't.

Is it actually quality chocolate?

They can sell that stuff really cheap because most of those items are near the expiry date. This shop, and others in the area, buy up stock that would otherwise be tossed out and sell it for very cheap. It's still edible though. Good place to get Valentine giri-choco cheap.

Puck: ¥1000 = $8.46US currently, and ¥1000 = 6.47 Euros.
