One of the themes for 2006 was "mottainai." Which roughly translates to, "What a waste!" For example, it's mottainai if you leave food on your plate. It's also mottainai if a hot guy dates an ugly girl. Or an ugly girl buys a pretty dress. Et cetera, et cetera.
Wasting paper is also mottainai, and this calendar kills two birds with one stone by not only commemorating the "mottainai" theme, but by doubling as a notepad. Each day of every month is a perfect square the size of a post-it pad, and has perforated edges so that they can be easily cut out and used as note paper.


Interesting. Do pieces of the calendar just tear off to become note paper? I couldn't tell if you actually own one or if it's something random that was come across...
