A completely new medium of ad campaigns started today in Chiba, when Nissin's Chicken Ramen was advertised on egg crates--and even on each individual egg--at supermarkets in Urayasu. The eggs themselves have tiny round stickers, 18mm in diameter, carefully placed at the top of each.
Eggs and cup noodle might seem totally unrelated to novice noodle-eaters, but it's actually a favorite combo among ramen fans in Japan.
In the next few months, egg ads are slated to proliferate to food stores across the country.
This tells me that, even after the founder's death, Cup Noodle will continue to kick ass at the forefront of Japanese gastronomical innovation. But I think it would also make me wonder whether these eggs taste like MSG and chicken.
I think the lady in the picture's wondering the same thing.
Just wanted to mention that, Mr Momofuku Ando is Taiwanese, a fact which never seems to get noticed...

You have to be careful when you buy eggs in Japan. You purchase a dozen but there's only 10.
