yo

this information is quite dated. it was the topic of discussion about 6 months ago.

Quite "fun" to have this information after the post about the pill box phone strap... :S

While I have no problem with erring on the side of caution, I think you're being a bit irresponsible with your statements in this article. Tamiflu is not known to make kids suicidal. In fact, as the article states, "no causal relationship with the drug has been proven."

While it may be convenient and comforting to some to suggest that a drug such as Tamiflu may cause depression and/or suicide, in reality, depression is a complex illness usually triggered by multiple factors. Attributing it to something like Tamiflu masks the complexity and seriousness of this illness.

This news reminds me of that surrounding the anti-acne drug, Roaccutane, which has also been "linked" to several depression-related suicides. No causal link has been proven in this case either.

As with any prescription medicine, appropriate supervision from medical professionals and support from family members is esssential to maintaining the patient's health.

Yikes, Tamiflu makes teens kill themselves. Suddenly the movie Suicide Club makes perfect sense. Except for that part where the wierdo glam guy sings,
"Because the dead/Because the dead/Because the dead shine all night long…"
