Holy crap! Someone finally did it. Takara Tomy revealed its Gundam-gone-platinum toy yesterday. Made of pure pt1000, this robot replica stands 5 inches tall and took 2 years to design and make. Blinged out Gundam will be settling in its home in a jewelry shop in Ginza soon, but has a world tour to go on beforehand--starting with Basel, Switzerland. Of course, what I really want to know is how much this bad boy costs. Will geeks start presenting their lovers with this instead of a diamond engagement ring? Perhaps. Its creators estimate its value at about $250,000, but if you think about how rare and gorgeous this thing is, I'd say its priceless like a Mastercard commercial.

I can't even begin to think of how utterly pointless such a thing would be. You can't really play with it...or customize it...and it doesn't really do anything except sit there and look shiny... Actually, now that I think about it, why it would have to do anything else?
