The researcher who sued Sharp for giving him nothing after he was instrumental in the invention of LCD technology (literally--he walked away with only 770,000 yen when he retired in 2001. That's less than 6,000 bucks) won a lawsuit against the electronics company today. They won't say how much the settlement was for, but the guy sued for 500 million yen. He remains anonymous and uncredited for his work, but at least he can live up
his retirement, maybe take his wife on a trip to Hawaii and buy himself an Aston Martin, or something.

How old is he?
Yeah, you'd think someone who designed something that profitable would be given a more respectful pension.
