This is a silly, high-tech door! But they actually materialized it. It's an automated door that opens to fit your size. But if you watch the video you'll notice that the door itself isn't that wide--I mean the reporter's like this super skinny Japanese lady, and she takes up most of it. Also, what do you do if one person and a dog walk through? Or one person and a bag? I don't get it. They say in the video that it's good if you don't want dust or wind to come through, but whatever. I think it's dumb and probably cost more to develop than it will ever be worth. (via JapanProbe)

The boom at the end scared me more than I got excited about this door.
