Check out this silly video of homemade Rube Goldberg-like contraptions. The music is lovely--it's just a rhythmic voice cheering the moving part on. Like if it's rolling he's saying "korokoro" (the sound of rolling)--that kind of thing.

This is from the very cool Pythagora Switch (Pitagora Suichi), from NHK, described to me as the show that targets the same age-group as the UK/US tellytubbies. I seem to remember there's the cool Algorithm Koushin which I'm sure is up on YouTube somewhere. It's a really great show - if you are in Japan, it's on NHK on Saturday at about 5.30.

I think these are produced by the NHK. Very fun to watch. You can find more from here: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3163263343187879320

My son (2 1/2 years) watches this show most every day (either that or my wife captures it on the DVR), and recognizes the music. The other day we were going through Tokyo Station and heard the music because there was a video playing in the bookshop of the show.
The machines are cool and every show they have some new machine. I even enjoy watching them.

Don't laugh at me, but i'm 26 and i watch this show every now and then. They show it dubbed in portuguese here in Brazil, but i don't remember if they translated that song, because as you most of the contraption have the instrumental tune playing.
