Either case, here's a surefire way to find out whether your best friend needs a diet—this body fat measuring device from Kao—made especially for dogs—will give you a fat percentage with just a simple tap on the dog's flesh.

According to the press release, 20-30% of domestic dogs are overweight in Japan. I need to get one of these and figure out if Ruby really IS fat. I don't believe it—I like to think she's just barrel-chested.

Does it work on kids... A lot on the east side are terribly obese, so it would be good to check if a young'n would start to turn into one of em.
