Video: Cosplayers and Robots Dancing in the Streets

Remember that video of the cosplayers dancing to Haru-hi in the middle of Akihabara? The last time, they got broken up by two cops, but this past Sunday yielded a more successful, complete dance routine. Here, hard core fans—including my new favorite Vending Machine RED—gather again on a closed-off street in the middle of Akiba to dance in costume.

Reader Osamu sent me this note along with this video:

Last Sunday, a robot that looks like a vending machine was dancing in a fan performance in front of Akihabara Station. Apparently, this is that Internet idol "Vending Machine RED." He was mingling with other fans, dancing the Haru-hi dance. However, his body is kind of stiff and it looked as though he was having trouble getting his groove on.

I wonder what the human inside Vending Machine RED is really like? Is it a hard core otaku? A train pervert? An ordinary businessman? A bored housewife? A psycho killer? Or just a curious prankster?
