This creative learning tool from stationary company Kokuyo features different colored, oddly shaped bricks that can be reconfigured to transform from kanji to pictures to English and back, just by moving them around. It's a really good way to teach kids how to associate words with images in English and Japanese simultaneously, while having fun. You can also see how some of the kanji characters resemble the animals they represent. Cool, right? Wish I had this when I had a kid—I had scary teachers pounding this stuff into my confused little brain instead.
