Limited Edition Heart-Shaped Cucumbers
If you thought cubic watermelons were over-the-top, you'll love the limited edition heart-shaped cucumbers that are being grown by an agricultural coop in Fukushima through October only. These romantic cukes are being distributed at fancy supermarkets in Tokyo and as specially ordered wedding gifts at ceremonies throughout the country.
The cucumbers cost 300 yen each (about $2.50)—they're not really heart-shaped per se, but when you cut it into slices, you'll get a heart-shaped cross-section.
So how do they do it?

I just remembered, at Disney World they grow Mickey shaped squashes! Your comment about square watermelons reminded me.

It works like corset, neck ring or foot binding.
By forcing the shape as it grow. You just have to put the cucumber in a heart-shaped corset when it was still young and growing.
