Jesus Diamante, a Store for Princesses
My mom called me last week saying, you have to check out this store called Jesus Diamante. Apparently, there is a subset of young women who believe they are real Victorian princesses. So they dye their hair blond and wear lots of lacy frilly stuff and act like royalty. Here's a quick video clip about two girls, both in their early 20s—one's a mother of a baby girl—who meet online and go shopping at Jesus for some $1000 princess coats.

It's like some type of "gothic lolita" style. Interesting! I'm always amazed at how much that type of clothing sells for in Japan, considering it's a subculture!

They look a lot like Shojo manga characters that I remember from the 80s. It's almost scary.
I busted up when I saw that the newscasters couldn't contain their laughter. I've seen that announcer keep a straight face through so many stories so it was humanizing to see her laugh!

1. They all creep me out a little...
2. Reminds me of the movie Shimotsuma monogatari (2004) aka Kamikaze Girls

My gf said she wanted to color her hair brown since her friends told her that was the thing. (I like it black)
After seeing this I'll be happy if that's the extent of it.
Then I saw this video...http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uAHUer75bgE&NR=1

btw they don't believe they're victorian princesses, they just like the style. It's not even victorian inspired, they girls take inspiration from Marie Antoinette who was from the 1700s'.
