A Brazilian magazine called Made In Japan (which I unknowingly snapped a photo of in Sao Paulo) wrote a profile about me but I have no idea what it says. What did they write? "Lisa has a silly blog and a cute dog"?

Weird. It looks to me like they are having an interview with you. When I translated it through a translation site (yes, I retyped it...) it read like an interview. Asking how you started blogging, etc. The answers read like answers, too. The first paragraph under your initials reads something to the effect: "I found different things that I thought were strange, so I placed them online."

Here's a Google Translation of what they said:

As someone who actually speaks Portuguese, I did a little translation for you. It's kinda sloppy, but far better than the Google one:
How did you start blogging? From where came the idea?
- As I did researches for wired.com, I've found several weird things. So I decided to put them online.
What's your favorite thing about blogging?
- I like being able to share my thoughts about Japan, since I was born and raised there. Besides that, I can write without worrying about talking to only one particular reader. TokyoMango shows who I'm actually.
How's the reader's comments?
- TokyoMango's readers are very educated. I receive few negative comments. But Gawker and Wired usually receive way more critic ones.
In TokyoMango, which post was the most controversial one until now?
- When I forgot to put "NSFW" in the title of a post about 100 couples making love in a single room. Some people complained, so Google took my ads down.
Do you consider your blog as an "add-on" to your journalistic career?
- Absolutely. I've got a lot of works because of it.
Which is your favorite blog about Japan?
- Pink Tentacle always have interesting stuff.
Today, blogs are a fad in Japan. Do you believe there are some cultural reason about it?
- I think they give a chance for people expressing your opinions and ideals. More and more Japaneses are becoming more comfortable about revealing their real identity on Internet and talking about what they think. And when you start, you can't stop it anymore.

Hmm, so they faked an interview with you? What do you think about that, Lisa?
Posted by: pirikara | September 08, 2008 at 03:23 PM
I interviewed in English, and they translated it.

You're going to have to learn Portuguese if you plan on moving to Brazil, Lisa! :)
