What's the most elaborate thing you can buy in an online auction? Probably this 15+ million dollar castle in Ehime Prefecture. It's being sold, surrounding forest and all, because the owners are stricken by the shitty economy. The only caveat: it used to be a love hotel until five years ago. But hey, if that doesn't bother you, this is your chance to have your very own 30 bedroom home in the mountains of Matsuyama, which is very close to a hot spring. Bidding starts tomorrow and goes through the 26th.

I wish it was 15+ million Yen. I'd buy it. I always wanted a castle. I'd just rent it out as a movie lot to offset costs.

I wish it was in Aichi prefecture, near the fun city of Nagoya. Unfortunately, it's in the much less glamorous Ehime prefecture. Maybe for 15 thousand yen!
Oh, who am I kidding? I'd take it!

Dumb question of the day: Was this a real castle that over the years ended up becoming a love hotel, or was it a more modern building built to be a hotel, or a big mansion, and ended up a love hotel in its senior years?
