Video: Schoolgirl robot dances to J-pop song

Robots might be replacing humans in a lot of things, but one thing they still can't do is dance. At the Robo-One international exhibition this past weekend at Tokyo Big Sight, this schoolgirl bot danced to a Japanese pop song. I love how the people in the back are keeping a straight face. I think the guy on her left might be the exhibitor.

24-year old woman may have broadcast her suicide attempt on the Internet

Stickam-jp-suicide-mextli-face-200x200Asiajin.com reports that a 24-year old woman who goes by the screenname _mextli attempted suicide today by jumping off the balcony of her fourth floor apartment — all in plain view of her live videostream. The attempt was supposedly broadcast on Stickam Japan, although _mextli's profile appears to have been removed. The incident, though, was widely discussed on 2channel.

In the past, people have used livecasts to fake suicide attempts for attention — not just in Japan. No news yet as to whether _mextli's rumored suicide attempt was real or not.
