I sat right under this giant phallic gong at Chinese Cafe 8 in Roppongi a couple of weeks ago and ate peking duck. It was delicious! More pics on Boing Boing.

Lisa-sama,
I am ashamed to admit that until you pointed it out that I never realized the bell was engraved with a very detailed inlay of a vagina. I did notice the giant penis, of course. The bell is extremely well-done. Perhaps the finest iron labia I've even seen in genital sculpture.
Together, the two make quite a bang--I'm told. I've been going there for years and I would really like to actually ring that bell. Maybe that will be my goal for 2010.

I've been there too a little while back, I went with for a meal my girlfriends parents... Quite a strange experience (i had no warning of the decor) although the food was really great.

It was closed for the month of September for re-modelling. It is a strange thing to remodel a famous and tasty dump.
But, alas not to worry- as expected- they mostly just polished the penises and table tops and the breasts on the walls.
Still good Peking duck for 3675 yen
